Hello and welcome to my blog :)
Firstly, a little bit about myself.
I'm 23 years old and have just graduated from Bangor University in Wales with a degree in French and Spanish. I have loved languages since half way through year 7 when I first started listening to music by Enrique Iglesias. I fell in love with him and the Spanish language too. In year 9, I began studying German in after school classes; I found that to be very enjoyable and it was fun learning another language that was so different to Spanish. So, when it came to options, I wanted to do French as well but that just wasn't possible within the curriculum and so they decided to take German on board and I was one of five studying for a GCSE. Luckily, I got the chance to study French after school too so I finished two years later with three GCSE's in languages. Not too shabby.
I then took all three onto A Level and came out with a much better knowledge, understanding and love for those languages.
University took a different turn. I did study all three in the first year, but studying German at university level just wasn't for me and so I dropped down to just studying French and Spanish. I had a blast learning them, went abroad to Girona in Spain and Toulouse in France for my year abroad and here I am four years later with a degree.
I don't want to be a translator full time, as some of my classmates will go on to be, but I do sometimes get the urge to translate a poem or a chapter from a book that I have read and this blog aims to be a place where I can share these things thus keeping me up to date with my language skills and also letting me have some fun along the way. Languages can be fun...if you know where to look!
If you have any requests for translations, please email me at translationsintime@gmail.com
Thanks for reading and see you soon!
